First-year post-secondary students in Milton are encouraged to submit applications for the opportunity to receive a scholarship from the Town’s Chamber of Commerce.

The Milton Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit, membership-based, volunteer-driven organization that represents more than 700 member businesses and individuals.

Since 1990, they have offered $1,000 scholarships to one student from each high school in Milton including E.C. Drury for the Deaf who will be entering their first year of post-secondary education.

A scholarship is also given to one high school student registered in an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program and one for a child of a Chamber member.

According to their website, the Chamber funds this program through the Scholarship Café at the Milton Farmers’ Market and through the Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction.

Proceeds from these initiatives allow the Chamber to ensure an ongoing fund to help advance post-secondary education in the community.

Students who wish to submit an application may do so by email to [email protected] from now until Apr. 29, 2022.
