The Town of Milton and Halton police are reminding residents to be aware of speed limits while travelling around town.

“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” said the Town on Twitter.

“Please remember to slow down, watch for community safety zones and follow all traffic laws.”

The Town of Milton also recently announced the introduction of three one-year speed reduction pilot programs in high-traffic school zones.

This was done to help the community feel safe during the back-to-school season.

Along with the pilot programs with 30 km/h speed limits, the Town often issues reminders to drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to always be aware of their surroundings in school zones as well as around town.

Drivers are always reminded to look for pedestrians, especially when turning left or right, not use handheld electronic devices when driving and be extra aware in school zones and in neighbourhoods where children can be unpredictable.
