The Town of Milton put out a reminder to residents to pick up trash after litter was found in public parks.

In a tweet on Thursday (Oct. 27), the Town of Milton reminded residents to dispose of garbage properly.

“Litter in our public spaces is unacceptable,” the tweet reads.

This comes after two recent posts on social media concerning trash left in public parks.

On Sunday (Oct. 23), someone found pizza boxes, food, signboards and other trash at the Sherwood District Park on the cricket grounds, according to a post on the community Facebook group Milton Talk.

“Since we play cricket on that pitch and because the weather was permitting for a friendly game, me and my team had to clean this mess as much as we could,” the post reads.

Then, just after election day and Diwali a resident found a mess in Ford Neighbourhood Park.

Resident Ronnie Lotakow tells inHalton he took a photo of fireworks debris and garbage in Ford Neighbourhood Park in Milton the day after Diwali celebrations on Oct. 25.
