To celebrate National Poetry Month, the Milton Public Library (MPL) will be hosting a teen poetry contest.

The contest, which will run from now until Apr. 22, will give participants between the ages of 13 and 19 a chance for their original poem to be featured on all MPL receipts for the month of May, along with being featured in next month’s newsletter.

Poem submissions may be of any length or style using a prompt provided by the MPL about spring in Milton.

Parent or guardian consent will be required for participants under the age of 18.

MPL will also be hosting a workshop this month that will enable residents of all ages to learn how to write poetry in any language.

No prior knowledge of poetry is required and attendees will learn to write poetry in whichever language they prefer.
