The Milton Public Library (MPL) has announced that they will be hosting a garden club at the Beaty branch.

The garden club will take place on Thursday, June 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will offer members the opportunity to meet new like-minded people while continuing to watch the garden grow into a vibrant space for the community.

This year, MPL received $50,000 in funding from the Government of Canada’s Healthy Communities Initiative.

In collaboration with local Indigenous organization Grandmother’s Voice, MPL recently planted a new Indigenous Garden with Miinikaan (‘the SEED in Ojibwe).

According to the MPL, the purpose of the garden is to “inspire a more inclusive, inviting and vibrant community space and to offer an opportunity to cultivate the garden.”

Those who are interested in participating in the garden club are encouraged to wear long but light clothing.
