Milton Mayor Gord Krantz remains confident an interchange will be built at Tremaine Rd. and Hwy. 401, he’s just not sure when.

During an exclusive interview with insauga.com publisher Khaled Iwamura, Krantz said about a future interchange, “That’s a definite yes.”

“The only question right now is what the timing for that would be. What the holdup is right now is, I really don’t know.”

Krantz said much of the new Tremaine Rd., which services the rapidly expanding western portion of the Town, is built, but the Hwy. 401 exit hasn’t been started.

Tremaine, once accessible from the 401, would allow drivers heading south towards Burlington and Oakville to bypass downtown Milton and ease congestion on the Hwy. 25 and James Snow Pkwy. exits.

“It would be better for traffic flow, no question about it. I’m hoping it might be later this year or, by the latest, 2024.”
