Milton man arrested and charged in firearm investigation

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) 1 District Street Crime Unit has concluded a firearm investigation in Milton which has led to one arrest and multiple charges.

Police say on Apr. 8, 2022, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Milton and seized an illegal handgun.

As a result of the investigation, Daanish Butt, a 29-year-old from Milton has been arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a restricted firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, contravention of storage regulations, possession of a firearm with a deface serial number and two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.
