Milton Halal Food Bank receives $87,000 in provincial funding

The Milton Halal Food Bank is receiving a total of $87,000 from the Ontario government to help offset the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The announcement was made by MPP Parm Gill, who explained that the grant, provided through the Resilient Communities Fund, is meant to help the Milton Halal Food Bank deliver the best service possible to the community.
“Non-profit organizations are a crucial and valued part of any community, especially here in Milton,” said Gill.
“Countless people rely on their services every day, and even facing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, they still deliver. This funding will help them offset those impacts and continue supporting those who need it most.”
The Ontario government is providing a total of $95.8 million this year through the Resilient Communities Fund to help 1,146 non-profit organizations recover and rebuild.
The Resilient Communities Fund provides grants of up to $150,000 to eligible non-profit organizations to help with the mental and physical health and wellbeing of staff or volunteers, act as support to adapt or re-imagine program delivery and services or assist with renovations and facility updates.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation will continue to offer the Resilient Communities Fund in 2022-23 to help additional eligible non-profit organizations that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
