A man suspected of attempting to steal vehicles from the Milton GO station parking is facing charges.

Halton police say that around 2:15 p.m. on April 2, officers were called to the Main Street East station after a man’s alleged attempt to steal vehicles was interrupted by witnesses who called authorities. Police say they found the suspect, who was allegedly carrying a “large and easily accessible kitchen knife,” a short distance away.

Police say the knife was not used and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Police say 25-year-old Milton man Jesse Zarger is facing a number of theft and weapons-related charges. At the time of the arrest, the accused was on five different forms of release stemming from previous charges, police say.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
