Milton councillor shows off creativity with new Star Wars-themed election signs

Rick Di Lorenzo, Town Councillor for Ward 3, is sparking some conversation online about his new Star Wars-themed election signs.
The signs feature an image of Darth Vader with the message “together, we will rule Milton.”
Di Lorenzo, who is running in the October 2022 election, said in a Reddit thread about the signs that while he takes his work on Town Council very seriously, he just doesn’t take himself seriously and dislikes “self-important pompous politicians.”
“I will continue to drive and support innovation in future planning to ensure safety remains a number one priority,” said Di Lorenzo in the thread.
“Investment in our regional roads and infrastructure in Milton lag our population growth. This needs to change with an increased focus on infrastructure investment and better planning to ensure gridlock does not become the new normal. We need bold leadership committed to the investment in our roads, facilities, parks and trails.”
Di Lorenzo has initiated a Small Business Program for the Town of Milton to drive entrepreneurship and eliminate bureaucracy barriers and promises to work to reverse Halton’s harmful decision to cost Milton 17,000 existing jobs.

“We need regional representation that helps drive decisive economic growth and job creation,” he added.
Along with economic growth, Di Lorenzo says supporting safe roads in Milton remains one of his top priorities.
Milton Councillors represent each of the four Town wards and are responsible for making decisions around issues pertaining to Milton. They are elected by residents for a four-year term.
