Milton Councillor Mike Cluett is reminding the community to properly dispose of Halloween pumpkins.

Halloween pumpkins must be placed for yard waste or in the composter at residents’ homes.

From late March to mid-December, yard waste is collected once every other week, on the same day as the garbage.

Milton residents are reminded that yard waste collection is for urban areas only and must be placed in paper yard waste bags or open, labelled, reusable, rigid containers with no lid.

“Please place your pumpkin out for yard waste collection or compost in your home composter,” Cluett reminded the public on Twitter.

Yard waste must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. of the collection day, but no sooner than 5:00 p.m. the evening before.
