A Milton man said ‘yes’ to Encore and was rewarded with a $100,000 jackpot.

Michele Sciscente matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the April 12 Lotto Max draw to win his prize.

“The lottery machine made a funny noise and clerk said I must have won a big prize,” said Sciscente when he picked up his windfall at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“I was shocked. I thought there was no way and even my family didn’t believe me when I told them.”

Sciscente said he’s been a regular lottery player for decades. He usually picks up his tickets when getting gas and always makes sure to add Encore.

“I was caught off guard,” said Sciscente, who works in the automotive industry. “It was so unexpected and hard to believe this happened to me. I am grateful for this win and the opportunity it gives me to share with my wife and kids.”

For now, he plans to invest his winnings before deciding what’s next.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Shell on Dundas Street in Etobicoke.
