Milton and Oakville students awarded prizes at annual science and engineering fair

Two students from Milton and five from Oakville were recently awarded prizes at the 62nd annual Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF).

The BASEF was held virtually last month and over 140 prizes, awards and scholarships were presented to dozens of Halton District School Board (HDSB) students for their submissions.

The Primary Fluid Systems Pinnacle Best in Fair, International Science and Engineering Fair Award was issued to Caroline Huang, a Grade 11 student from Abbey Park High School in Oakville.

For the Canada-Wide Science Fair Awards that took place from May 16-20, 2022, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, prizes were awarded to four students from Oakville and two from Milton.

Prizes were awarded to Maya LeBlanc from Abbey Park High School, Jeffrey Klinck from Oakville Trafalgar High School and Ava Romano and Vihaan Vashishtha from W. H. Morden Public School in Oakville.

Iman Ali from Sam Sherratt Public School and Ariana Mehr from Chris Hadfield Public School in Milton were also awarded prizes.

Additionally, as a result of the participation of dozens of sponsors and charitable donors, approximately $150,000 worth of cash prizes, awards and scholarships were given to students who participated in BASEF 2022.
