The Port Credit GO Station is welcoming back travelers who may have not been using the service due to restrictions associated with the pandemic.

Now that Ontario has entered Step 3 of the Province’s reopening framework, more businesses are open, and more people are returning to work.

Those who show up at the GO station for the first time in a while will notice some changes from the last time they used the facilities.

Over the last few months, construction has been underway to improve certain amenities, including both elevators, which have been upgraded to be more efficient and reliable, and most importantly, are now open to the public—added security measures have also been installed to keep travelers safe while using the facilities, and yellow safety tiles have been installed on the edge of the train platforms to give customers an idea of where it is safe to stand.

Additionally, the transit provider has installed a new accessibility ramp at the west side of the station, which offers customers a convenient connection between the bus loop and the south platform.

Moreover, the ramp that connects the south parking lot to the station building on the east side of the station has been widened to make it more accessible.

However, those with mobility issues should be aware that the north side of the station is still inaccessible at this time.

Minor construction to enhance accessibility and safety features is still on-going and expected to wrap up towards the end of summer.
