UPDATE: Metrolinx road work to close eastbound Salem Road off ramp in Ajax March 1-2

After posting on social media Friday they were going ahead with road work at the Salem Road off-ramp in Ajax Wednesday night – despite forecasts of a winter storm coming that evening – Metrolinx has re-scheduled the work once again.
The eastbound ramp will now be closed from 8 p.m. March 1 until 6 a.m. March 2.
The work, which will support the GO Train expansion into Bowmanville, will now continue from March 2-6 from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. each night with two crew shifts. Two left turn lane (northbound turn) will be closed on the Salem Road off ramp on eastbound Hwy 401 and one left turn lane (southbound turn) will be closed on westbound Hwy 401.
The work schedule may be delayed and/or changed with “unforeseen adverse winter weather conditions.”
There will be traffic controls set up and signage to indicate the closure as well as detour routes for traffic travelling along Highway 401 and along Salem Road.
