With Ontario having entered Step 2 of the Province’s reopening framework, more businesses have permitted to open, and indoor gatherings are permitted for up to five people.

As a result, Metrolinx has announced it is resuming certain services to help people enjoy the new activities that have become available.

Starting July 10, Metrolinx will be increasing weekend GO train service and increasing the frequency of UP Express.

The UP Express runs from Pearson Airport in Mississauga to Union Station in Toronto.

Additionally, weekend service for Lakeshore East and West lines will be reintroducing 30-minute intervals, rather than the current, 60-minute intervals.

The Lakeshore West line serves Mississauga.

Further, UP Express service will be reverting to 30-minute intervals on weekdays during the mid-day, as well as on weekends and holidays during part of the evening to allow for easier access to Toronto Pearson Airport.

Moreover, the transit agency will be making it easier to access the Toronto Zoo through a pilot project involving GO bus service to the Zoo.

Starting July 10, and running through Labour Day, most weekend and holiday Route 96 GO Buses will be servicing the Zoo.
