Violent home invader on the loose in Ontario town, police say

The man fatally shot outside a restaurant in Burlington, Ontario, was a longtime member of the Hells Angels biker group.

Halton Regional Police say 55-year-old Craig McIlquham, also known as Craig Brown of Oakville, was gunned down by unknown assailants in the parking lot of the Mandarin Restaurant on Fairview Street late Tuesday night (April 29).

He had been in the restaurant dining with family members.

McIlquham was well known to police, having been linked to organized crime and arrested several times over the years on various charges.

Most recently, he was one of 30 people brought in during a police probe into illegal gambling and money laundering. Those charges were never proven in court and many were withdrawn.

Police have said McIlquham was targeted by the shooters but have not indicated if they know of a motive for the crime.

Investigators have since said they are looking for is a grey, newer model Honda Civic with dark-tinted windows and black alloy rims.

They are appealing to the public to help identify the vehicle and those who may be connected to the car.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Major Crime Bureau at 905-825-4776.

Also, anyone with dash cam footage of Fairview Street and Brant Street between 4 and 10 p.m. is asked to contact police.
