McMaster University selected by US Department of Energy to re-engineer electric Cadillac

Hamilton’s McMaster University has been selected to re-engineer an all-electric Cadillac by the US Department of Energy, General Motors, and MathWork.

The EcoCAR EV Challenge will take place over four years and includes 15 North American Universities. Participants will re-engineer an all-electric 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ. 

Teams will be tasked with complex, real-world challenges to optimize energy efficiency of the vehicle while maintaining consumer expectations for performance and driving experience.

The program aims to help prepare the next generation of North American automotive talent with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance the future of electric vehicles and build a clean energy workforce.
