Massive power outage affecting Brampton on May 22

A power outage is currently affecting over 4655 homes and businesses in Brampton, with an estimated restoration time close to 11 p.m. tonight.

Alectra Utilities first reported the outage shortly before 7:30 p.m. today (May. 22) saying 4655 homes and businesses were experiencing the same issue.

The outage is located in the area of McLaughin Rd N, Williams Pkwy, Queen St W, Queen St E and Rutherford Rd N.

The utilities company mentioned in a recent tweet that they had dispatched crew to fix the issue and that the earliest the power restoration would be complete is near 11 p.m. tonight.

However, Alectra has not released any details about the possible cause of the power outage.
