Details about Mississauga’s plan for a $75-million modern marina and waterfront park in Port Credit will be shared with the public this Saturday at a popup event at the development site.

The popup runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 30 in front of Port Credit Marina.

City of Mississauga staff will be on hand to share more details about the massive project and answer questions.

The latest plans for the new, full-service marina are also being revealed to the public online as the major project moves into its next phase.

Mississauga officials say their provincially-mandated environmental assessment (EA) related to the $75-million (estimated) project has been completed in draft form and is being presented to residents and others through Oct. 31 via the project’s latest public feedback session.

The City’s third virtual Public Information Centre will collect feedback and other information related to the EA and the marina project in general.

Those interested in participating can complete an online survey available on the project website.

More details about specific design and cost will be available as the EA process continues, project leaders say.

The waterfront overhaul seeks to maximize the location’s advantage as Lake Ontario’s deepest natural harbour in making a new-look Port Credit Harbour a destination place, City officials have said.

Once the EA is completed in its final form, the project will move ahead, with funding one of the key matters on the table.

Mississauga is looking to provincial and federal governments for money to complete the redevelopment plan, dubbed by City staff the 1 Port Street East Proposed Marina Project.

Mississauga operates two other marinas in the city—Lakefront Promenade and Credit Village marinas.
