GO Transit riders across the GTHA will have to continue to wear masks for the foreseeable future.

The decision by the Ontario government to extend its mask mandate in certain settings means that users of the GO Train and GO Buses will have to continue to wear the face coverings in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. It also applies to the Union Pearson Express train.

Masks will also have to be worn at all GO Transit stations. The rules also apply to employees of GO and Metrolinx.

At Union Station, however, there are rules for different areas.

All transit areas in Union Station still require masks including the GO concourses (York and Bay), the Union Pearson Express station, the Union Station bus terminal, as well as the VIA Rail (federally regulated) and TTC areas.

However, if people head into non-transit areas in Union Station such as the Great Hall or a food court, a mask is recommended but not mandatory. These spaces are managed by the City of Toronto.

Metrolinx staff will have masks on hand if anyone that needs one.
