cold and windy with snow today in southern Ontario

It seems like Mother Nature is not done delivering winter weather, as high winds and snow are expected in southern Ontario today.

This week has brought a mix of weather, from record-breaking warmth to heavy rainfall. Looking ahead, the region is poised for more turbulent conditions.

Yesterday, the skies remained mostly cloudy, and torrential rainfall reached 40 millimetres. In the evening, drizzles persisted, and brisk winds travelled at 20 km/h.

Residents will wake up to predominantly cloudy skies which will continue throughout the day.

According to Environment Canada, strong winds will move in at 30 km/h and gust at 60 km/h.

Daytime temperatures are expected to be fairly chilly, reaching -1 C. Bundling up in layers is advisable if you plan to head out somewhere.

There’s a 40 per cent chance of flurries anticipated to begin in the evening, though the exact amount of snowfall remains uncertain.

Temperatures are forecasted to fall to -4 C, dropping even further overnight with wind chills plunging to -11 C.

The good news is that plenty of sunshine and spring-like temperatures soaring above 16 C will return on Monday and stay throughout the week.

It might be a good idea to take advantage of the pleasant weather before snow and rain make a comeback.
