A man arrested after allegedly trying to leave Canada to join a terrorist group has made his first court appearance in Brampton, the RCMP says.
Few details about the case have been released, but Mounties say a 32-year-old man was placed on a terrorism peace bond on Saturday.
The man was arrested by the RCMP’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team and made a court appearance in Brampton on Sunday, Mounties say.
Police have not said where the man was arrested or what “terror group” he allegedly tried to join.
The matter is under a publication ban, including the name of the accused and evidence in the case.
