The Hamilton Police Service BEAR unit is investigating a robbery that occurred in the city’s east-end on Feb. 7.

Police say shortly before 12 a.m., a lone male entered the Hasty Market at 387 Barton St. East. The suspect allegedly approached the counter and demanded cash before stating he had a weapon, although a weapon was never observed.

“The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled eastbound on foot,” said police. “No one was physically injured during this incident.”

Police are searching for a 5-foot-8 Black male in his 20s, with a medium build.

The suspect was wearing a black North Face jacket with grey fur trim, a black toque, and a black “COVID mask.”
