An alleged impaired driver who police say is responsible for the deaths of three people could be hiding out in Brampton, investigators say.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jogpreet Singh, a 24-year-old man from Kingston wanted for multiple offences following a fatal crash in Seguin, around 23 kilotmetres south of Parry Sound.

The crash happened back on July 20 shortly after 11:00 p.m. when the OPP says police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Tally Ho-Swords Road in Seguin.

Three people were killed in the crash including Vivek Aggarwal, a 33-year-old attending school in Brampton who had just arrived in Canada months prior to the crash, according to a fundraiser collecting money for the victim’s family.

A GoFundMe account that’s raised over $7,000 for Aggarwal’s family said he was a passenger in the vehicle and his death left friends “devastated.”

Singh was arrested and charged following the fatal crash and made a court appearance on July 29, but police say the accused failed show up in court. Police say Singh is known to frequent Kingston and Brampton and investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Singh is described as a 24-year-old South Asian male standing around 6’2″ tall and weighing approximately 158 lbs.

The OPP is urging members of the public not to approach Singh if he is spotted and to call police as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about this incident or Singh’s whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may also be provided to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
