A 19-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of two teenage boys in Montreal was recently arrested in Oakville.

Halton police say that on March 29, officers arrested the man, along with several other people, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for homicide charges related to the shooting deaths of two teens in Quebec in July 2022.

Police said the search warrant was executed at a home in the Dundas Street West and Bronte Road area in Oakville and that a total of five male suspects were taken into custody.

Police also allege that they located stolen items and tools commonly used to steal vehicles, such as reprogramming and relay devices, in the home.

Officers also say they seized a stolen BMW.

“A 19-year-old male of Oakville was arrested by the HRPS on the strength of the Canada-wide warrant and was turned over to homicide investigators from Montreal police to face charges,” police said in a news release.

“The HRPS has not yet charged this suspect in relation to offences committed in Halton, and cannot publicly identify them due to their age at the time the homicide offences were committed.”

Police say they cannot identify any of the other adults charged because it could lead to the identification of other under-aged suspects.

According to police, other people facing a range of theft-related charges include a 16-year-old Montreal male, a 20-year-old Montreal male, an 18-year-old Montreal male and a 21-year-old Montreal male.

Two of the four suspects charged by Halton police were on various forms of release stemming from previous charges.
