Man suffers life-threating wounds in Oshawa stabbing

A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed in Oshawa.
Durham Regional Police said around 6 p.m. on Jun. 1 the man was attacked near Ritson Rd. and Adelaide Ave. The busy intersection is home to several large retail and restaurant plazas.
The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators have one man in custody in connection to the attack. However, they have not described him or the circumstances of the stabbing.
Police have advised residents to avoid the area while they continue their investigation.
Update: Reports indicate the victim was stabbed on a footpath in a greenspace near the intersection.
