An unnamed man was struck by a train in Burlington in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 2.

A Halton police spokesperson said they received a call at around 2:40 a.m. reporting an adult male had been struck on the railroad tracks near Snake Rd. and Hwy. 403.

“That male was transported to hospital and is in stable condition and is expected to survive and make a recovery,” said the police spokesperson. “I can’t speculate on his condition beyond that.”

At this point, police don’t believe any foul play was involved although it isn’t clear why the man was on or near the railroad tracks.
