Man stabbed multiple times in Port Colborne, suspect in custody

Niagara Regional Police have made an arrest following an overnight stabbing in Port Colborne.

At around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, officers located a 21-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds in the area of Elm and Minto Street.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.

 

According to police, a group of acquaintances met in the area in search of their mutual friend.

“A disagreement occurred resulting in the suspect drawing a knife,” said police. “After the victim was stabbed, the suspect proceeded to take personal items belonging to the victim prior to fleeing the scene on foot.”

Officers located and arrested the suspect at 4:07 a.m.

The knife was also recovered.

Jordan Marcel Parent, an 18-year-old from Port Colborne, has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
