Man sought by police in Mississauga, Brampton on attempted murder charges

Police are looking for Muhammad Farnawany.

Peel cops are hunting for a man wanted on charges of attempted murder, sexual assault and other violence-related offences in connection with an intimate partner violence investigation.

Investigators with the Peel Regional Police Intimate Partner Violence Unit are searching for Muhammad Farnawany, 27, in relation to a series of violent acts committed against a victim in January and February of this year.

Police didn’t say if the man, who’s wanted on a warrant for numerous alleged offences, is from Mississauga, Brampton or elsewhere.

Nor did investigators say if any, some or all of the violent episodes took place in Mississauga or Brampton.

Police did say the victim suffered significant injuries and went to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Farnawany is wanted on the following charges: two counts of attempted murder, two counts of sexual assault, six counts of assault, aggravated assault and strangulation.
