A man was shot in Oakville yesterday and Halton police are looking for the gunman.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, police received reports of a single gunshot near the McDonalds restaurant at Dundas St. W. and Hampshire Gate.

A man was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Due to the nature of the injury, police believe he may have been shot with a pellet gun.

Although not supplying any additional information, police don’t believe the encounter was random.

The suspect is a male who was wearing all black clothing and a motorcycle helmet. He was last seen driving westbound on Dundas Str. at a high rate of speed on a motorcycle.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.
