Man seriously injured in home invasion in Brampton

A man was seriously injured in a home invasion in Brampton early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the incident on Estateview Circle at Rae Avenue, northeast of Goreway Drive and Castlemore Road, in Brampton shortly before 4 a.m.

One man was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, a Peel Regional Paramedic Services spokesperson told INsauga.com.

Peel Regional Police said officers are on scene investigating an overnight home invasion.

The suspect or suspects are no longer in the area, police said.

Police did not provide a suspect description or more details on the incident. An update is expected around 10 a.m.

Traffic is congested in the area due to scene management, police said. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
