One man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a plaza in Mississauga’s west end this afternoon.

Peel Regional Police said in a post to social media at about 3:30 p.m. they’re investigating “a fight and possible stabbing” on Wednesday afternoon at a plaza near Eglinton Avenue and Creditview Road.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police confirmed the victim had been stabbed and that they were on the hunt for a culprit described as a white male, about 5-foot-9 with a heavy build, brown beard and wearing a rain jacket.

A heavy police presence remains at the scene and people are being told to avoid the area for the time being.

Police said the adult male was taken to hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
