Man pronounced dead after drowning in Pickering

A drowning has been reported in Pickering today (July 4).

At 3:30 p.m., Durham police officers responded to a man drowning in Frenchmans Bay.

“A male in his 30’s was swimming and disappeared under the water,” police said.

He was eventually located and CPR was performed, but the man was later pronounced dead, police reported at 9:23 p.m.

The name of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
