Man pistol-whipped in Pickering in attempted carjacking

One man is suffering from head injuries after being pistol whipped in an attempted carjacking Wednesday night in Pickering.

The victim was in the area of Kingston Road and Brock Road at 11:15 p.m. when he was approached as he exited his vehicle.  The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s keys.  The victim refused and was struck in the head with the gun.  The victim punched the suspect in the face and was able to run away.  The suspect fled the area.

About 35 minutes earlier a woman was sitting in her vehicle in the area of Sheppard Avenue and Whites Road when she was approached by a man who knocked on her window.  The female refused to comply with his demands to roll down her window.  When he lifted his shirt to show his waistband, she quickly drove away.

The suspect on both occasions was described as male, dark skin, 25 years old, 5’8 to 5’11 with a thin build and wearing all black clothing.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses with video in either area to contact police.
