Man on the run after Mississauga bank robbed just before lunch

Police are hunting for a man who robbed an east Mississauga bank just before the lunch hour today (March 15).

According to Peel Regional Police, a bank located in a plaza at Dixie and Burnhamthorpe Rds. was held up at about 11:50 a.m.

Police say the robber indicated to a teller that he had a gun, but none was seen.

The culprit fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries, police say.

A heavy police presence remains in the area.

The culprit is described as White, with blond hair and wearing a dark jacket, dark hat and blue mask.
