Man killed crossing road in Burlington

A man has died as a result of injuries after being struck by a car in Burlington this morning (Oct. 19).

Halton Regional Police say the incident occurred just after 7 a.m. when the 81-year-old man was crossing Maple Ave. mid-block near Maple Crossing Blvd. He was struck by a black Honda Civic travelling northbound.

The pedestrian was transported to Joseph Brant Hospital and subsequently died from his injuries.

The involved driver remained on scene and is co-operating with the police investigation. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is at the scene.
