A man has been rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after a crash north of Caledon on Monday morning (Sept. 20).

Just before 7:00 a.m., the Dufferin OPP say officers and members of the Dufferin County EMS were called to a stretch of 5 Sideroad in the town of Mono, approximately 26 kilometres north of Caledon.

Police say a male driver was injured in a single-vehicle collision, calling the crash “serious.”

The lone male driver suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a local hospital, where he was then again transported by an Ornge ambulance to a trauma centre.

Police closed off 5 Sideroad between the 4th and 5th Line and said the road will remain closed for several hours while officers investigate the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact the Dufferin OPP 1-888-310-1122.

If you were a witness to the collision and wish to speak to victim services, you can reach the OPP’s Caledon/Dufferin Victim Services by calling 905-951-3838.
