A man died following a head-on crash east of Oshawa on Sunday.
Emergency crews responded to the collision on Highway 35/115 at approximately 1:45 p.m. on April 26, the Ontario Provincial Police said.
Two SUVs collided in the northbound lanes of Highway 35/115, just south of Concession Road 3 in Newcastle, the OPP said.
Police said one driver, an 80-year-old man from Clarington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other SUV was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening or life-altering injuries, police said.
Highway 35/115 northbound was closed between Highway 2 and Concession Road 3 for several hours for the ongoing investigation with assistance from the OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit.
