One man has died, and two suspects are sought following a shooting in Brampton on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the shooting at Earlsbridge Boulevard and Edenbrook Hill Drive, near Chinguacousy Road and Waneless Drive, around 3:40 p.m., Peel Regional Police said.
One man was found with a gunshot wound, police said. He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Peel Regional Police Insp. Andrew Harris told reporters on Sunday afternoon.
Harris said the shooting occurred on the street in the middle of the afternoon.
“We are in a fairly busy subdivision on what’s a busier side street in the City of Brampton, so I would say that there were people out on the street,” Harris said.
It is not known if the victim knew the shooter or shooters, but there was an “altercation” before the shooting, he added.
Two people fled the scene on foot, Harris said.
“After a significant search of the area, we are satisfied that there is no threat to the public,” Harris said.
Police are still searching for two males.
The suspects are described as Black males, and they were both dressed in black.
Anyone with information should contact police at 905-453-3311.
