Man dead following major vehicle collision in Mississauga

A man has died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree during Friday afternoon (June 30) rush hour in west Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the single-vehicle collision happened at about 5 p.m. at Erin Mills Pkwy. and Folkway Dr., just south of Hwy. 403.
The man was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Northbound and southbound Erin Mills Pkwy., between Burnhamthorpe Rd. and Folkway Dr., are closed to traffic while police investigate.
The man’s name has not been released by police.
Cause of the collision remains unknown at this time, and investigators with the Major Collision Bureau are on the scene looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
