Man charged with sexual assault involving a young person in Brampton

A man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault involving a young person which took place in Brampton last month.

On Tuesday (Jul. 25) at approximately 3 p.m., police say an 11-year-old girl was walking in the area of Dufay Rd. and Sandalwood Prkwy., southeast of Mississauga Rd.

According to officers, the girl was approached by an unknown man who reportedly tried to sell her sunglasses.

It is alleged that the accused initiated physical contact with the girl and subsequently exposed himself.

Investigators say they have identified 33-year-old Sunil Tak from Brampton as the suspect in question and charged him with several offences including sexual assault, sexual interreference and indecent exposure to a person under the age of 16.

Tak was held for a bail hearing and attended a Court of Justice in Brampton.
