Man charged with setting garbage can on fire at Oakville Tim Hortons

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged for what police believe was a deliberately-set fire at a Tim Hortons location in Oakville on the weekend.

Halton Regional Police responded to a call around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 27) of reports of a garbage ban being set on fire at the Tim Hortons on Hyde Park Gate.

Police would locate the man, who was on foot, in the area of the coffee shop and arrest him.

The man has been charged with arson.

Halton police continue to investigate the incident.
