Man charged with second degree murder following homicide in Mississauga

A Mississauga man has been arrested following a recent homicide in Mississauga.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 9, police received a call for an unconscious man located on the roadway at Gant Crescent and Galesway Boulevard.

“Upon arrival, police located the man suffering from obvious signs of trauma,” said police. “Paramedics attempted to render assistance; unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.”

The victim was identified as 39 year old Mississauga man Orlando Donaldson.

Victor Alvarado, a 36 year old man also from Mississauga, has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

Police say he and the victim knew each other. The circumstances leading to the homicide are unclear at this time.

Alvarado appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, July 10.
