Man charged after shootings and fire in Brampton and Caledon; second suspect still at large

A man has been charged in connection with two shootings and a fire that took place in Brampton and Caledon late last month, with police looking for a second suspect.

The first incident happened around 3 a.m. on Oct. 26 at a home near Old School Road and Creditview Road.

Peel Regional Police say surveillance footage allegedly shows two suspects arriving in a silver BMW SUV. One person is seen pouring an accelerant on the driveway and setting it on fire before both individuals fired several shots toward the home.

Investigators say the same suspects then went to a business near Advance Boulevard and Dixie Road in Brampton, where one of them fired multiple rounds from inside a vehicle.

No injuries were reported in both instances.

On Nov. 7, police arrested a man they believe to be involved.

Iqbal Bhagria, 25, of Brampton, faces several charges including two counts of intentionally discharging a firearm recklessly, arson, unauthorized possession of a firearm and uttering a forged document.

Bhagria remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police say they are still working to identify and locate a second suspect.
