Halton Regional Police are looking for help identifying a male suspect who was caught stealing items in an Oakville renovation store and fled before they could arrive.

The man walked into the Home Depot, located at 2555 Bristol Circle, on June 7 and loaded a shopping cart with a small table and a Milwaukee staple gun. He would also sneak a spool of wire into his backpack.

He then left the store, making no attempt to pay for the items. Before he could get away, the man was stopped and arrested by a Home Depot Asset Protection employee.

The table and nail gun were returned, but the suspect refused to wait for police to arrive and fled the area in a dark grey Honda Civic. The Ontario licence plate on the car (CFEW834) is stolen.

Police describe the male suspect as being between 25 to 35 years old, five-foot-seven and with an average build. He has short black hair, a large nose, a full beard and trimmed moustache. He also had a tattoo on his left wrist/forearm.

The suspect was wearing a blue baseball hat backwards with Toronto written on the front along with a picture of the city on it. He also was sporting a blue and white thin striped t-shirt, blue jeans, had black shoes with white bottoms and was carrying a maroon/white checkered backpack.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Halton Regional Police Service at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.
