A driver has been suspended after police say he was clocked driving more than triple the speed limit in a 60 km/h zone in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police said on Tuesday that the driver was stopped on the Humber West Parkway near Queen Street in Brampton.

Police say the 23-year-old male driver was out for a ride in his dad’s Corvette when police clocked him driving at 186 km/h in a 60 k/m/ zone.

The driver was charged with stunt driving and police say the man’s licence has been suspended for 30 days while daddy’s sports car will be impounded for 14 days.

Despite the high speed, police had some fun with the traffic stop in a post on X, poking some fun at the driver by channelling the lyrics of Prince’s chart-topping hit “Little Red Corvette.”

“Little red Corvette.. you’ve gotta slow down,” police said in the post.

The traffic stop was at least the third time in recent weeks that Peel police have stopped a speeder out for a drive in their parent’s vehicle.

Earlier this week police said a 23-year-old driver in his mom’s car had been taken off the road after he was stopped for driving nearly 100 km/h over the limit in Brampton.

And on Nov. 5, Peel police said that an 18-year-old was nabbed going 161 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone near the intersection of Mississauga Road and Bovaird Drive West in his dad’s BMW.
