Man Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Woman in Brampton

Police have arrested and charged a Brampton man in connection with a recent assault.

Police have arrested and charged a Brampton man in connection with a recent assault.

The incident happened at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday (August 11) at a residence on Knightsbridge Road, north of Central Park Drive at Clark Boulevard.

According to police, Brampton man Abdinasir Yusuf, 31, became involved in an argument with a 28 year old Brampton woman.

The argument escalated and Yusuf allegedly used an edged weapon to assault the victim.

Police say the victim suffered a stab wound to her chest, which subsequently punctured her lung.

She is currently in stable condition.

Yusuf was arrested the same day. He is charged with aggravated assault, breach of recognizance, and obstructing police.

He appeared at court on Sunday, August 12 for a bail hearing.
