A man who’s been accused of a stabbing on the Toronto subway last week has also been charged with several crimes in Milton, and skipped out on a court hearing.

Moses Lewin, 25, of no fixed address, is facing charges in Toronto of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

One of the failure to comply charges is in relation to a June 2022 arrest for which Lewin was scheduled to be in a Milton courtroom on the same day of the alleged subway attack.

Last June, Lewin was charged with break and enter, stealing a car, fleeing from police and dangerous driving following an incident that saw someone drive a stolen van to Windsor and back.

Lewin is also facing charges in connection with crimes in Newmarket and Scarborough.
