Brampton man, 62, goes missing

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 62-year-old man who went missing in Brampton on Friday night.

Peel Regional Police say the man, whose first name is Subarto, was last seen at about 9 p.m. last night in the area of Queen Street and West Drive.

The area is just east of Highway 410 and close to Norton Place Park.

Police and family members are concerned for his well-being.

The missing man may be driving his vehicle, described as a black Toyota Tercel bearing licence plate marker CRNL 506.

Subarto is described as standing 5-foot-1 and weighing 100 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket with black pants and black work boots.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 905-453-2121.

Under a new policy adopted in 2023 regarding missing persons and what information will be released via social media or to the media, Peel police now only release the given names of missing people when the news release/social media post is accompanied by a photo.

Surnames will only be provided if “there is an investigative value to do so,” police say.

Toronto Police and other police forces adopted a similar policy this year.
